Adventures of the Elements (AoE) is a scientific trading card game, adventure book series, colorful Periodic Table Poster, and educational supplements. In the books, five brothers and sisters discover sunglasses that allow them to see the element guardians. This encounter with the elements leads the three sisters and two brothers on a journey into mystery, adventure, and science.
The AoE trading card game tests your wit, skill, strategy, and knowledge against the greatest forces in the universe. With a greater understanding of science, you will develop a superior strategy to defeat your opponents in the atomic battle. Knowledge is power.
Combine your elements to create powerful molecules, use the Palace of Knowledge cards to defeat your opponent's molecules, and use strategy to protect your Character card to win the game. There is no luck in this game. You select the exact cards you wish to play so choose wisely. Two starter decks are all you need to begin playing, but collecting additional cards will allow you to develop a stronger strategy.
So Much Fun and Learning Too!
The game and books enhance math and problem solving skills as well as strengthening knowledge of science - especially chemistry - for second grade through college. AoE reflects traditional values and contain no controversial material. In fact, in the stories, the kids learn that all elements and molecules can be used for good or bad; it depends on the choices the children make.
The website has information about the latest products and educators can learn about using the books and game in the classroom, how to form Adventures of the Elements science clubs, about AR (Accelerated Reader) tests, and even download lesson plans. Your local Barnes & Noble carries the books and games as well. Many schools have used AoE to help their students prepare for Science Exams, especially in the US where AoE is now being used in over 5,000 schools, and has received backing by the Education authorities. The success of which has been documented through case studies conducted by the American Chemical Society and Lamar University.
